For this project we were given an idea that we were to build off of. However it was lees than an idea. More of a pondering question that we had to ponder to closer to finding out a possible answer. The question was, "What is the Truth of Happiness?" Well the answer is obviously that it depends on the person. But when you go deeper like we did, you find out that there is so much more to the answer and the question its self. We started out at first researching this as singles. I began with a book about happiness called Furiously Happy. For any of you out there who have not read it I highly recommend it! But thats besides the point. This book showed me all about how different people have different ways of being happy and for some of us it may seem like they are sad but in reality they are just doing what makes them happy. I began to go into this deeper with many TED talks and found that FLOW was what we as humans engage in to become happy. FLOW changes the state of mind to where it feels like there is no time and you could go for hours because of how happy you are. After doing my person research I got together with my group member, Jem Van Tyn and began to think about our movie. We started with comparing our notes to see what we had in common. It worked perfectly because he had the insight on the neural science of FLOW while I had the effects it has on you as a person and how engaging in this activity can make you happier. We began making our moving involving so much biking and skiing videos. You may ask why so much of these things and it has a simple answer really, it was videos of us engaging in our FLOW activities. Jem found happiness in skiing and I in biking. Together we accomplished a lot and I would not have changed anything about this project if I had the chance too. I think that this project was so helpful for me and really helps me to see the world through a new set of eyes now. I have changed in quite a few ways from all that I have learned through our Truth of Happiness project.
